For those who wonder why we have a union it is to: have consistency in pay, treatment and working conditions.  Your union is as strong as its' members.  You wonder what your dues pay for?  It pays to our National our State and Local.  At our local we are supporting nurses to go to conferences with assistance, nursing studies and help to student nurses.  None of your officers get paid to deal with the issues they face, they like you as nurses, work week in and week out.  If they go to meetings at the state or national level they use their vacation.  Vacation not spent with their families but time spent to serve you.

Do you know why you have break times it isn't a law it is your union right.  If you don't receive those breaks you can receive vouchers to be paid for those breaks.  Do you know who fights for you when you need help with a manager.  Sometimes you think it is not enough.  We need you! If something doesn't feel right call us.  We will be there.  We need your help now!  There will be a Rally Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at 5:30 to 8:30 at the Marquette County Courthouse to support all our other friends in unions across the county.  Please come bring your families.  This is not a democratic issue this is a democracy issue!
